I’ve had the privilege of attending the 24 Hours of Barcelona three times — a defining experience that perfectly blends my passion for motorsport photography, endurance racing, and storytelling through images. My attraction to long-distance racing and high-intensity events naturally led me to capture one of the most demanding formats in endurance motorsport.
The first time, I attended as a spectator with a friend — he’ll recognize himself. We were discovering not only the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, but also the unique atmosphere of a 24-hour endurance race: raw, accessible, and incredibly immersive. We must have walked around the circuit four times, scouting the best trackside photography spots, exploring team garages, and witnessing a live pit stop as if we were part of the crew.
We even “slept” in the grandstands, right on the seats — a true endurance experience in itself. I’ll never forget waking up after that short night: the first light of sunrise illuminating the track, combined with the continuous roar of engines — a perfect moment for low-light motorsport photography and capturing the soul of endurance racing.
The following year, we came back better prepared — with our partners and by car, determined to improve our race photography experience. But despite our planning, the cold temperatures and fatigue caught up with us during the night — a reminder that endurance racing challenges everyone, not just the drivers.
Then came the third edition — a turning point in my journey as a professional motorsport photographer. I was officially accredited, giving me exclusive access to the circuit, and I brought my friend along to share this milestone. This edition was exceptional, both during the day and at night. From trackside photography positions to capturing high-speed action, dramatic lighting conditions, and intense racing moments, I was able to document the race from the heart of the action all the way through sunrise.
From night racing photography to dynamic panning shots, from the tension of pit lane to the beauty of endurance under artificial lights, these are unforgettable moments. Through this series of images, my goal is to share the intensity, emotion, and visual storytelling of endurance racing photography — and bring you as close as possible to the experience of the 24 Hours of Barcelona.
